Do you want to build the next generation, medical eyecare devices?
You will be joining the hardware engineering team in a critical role that will be involved in the assembly and production of our ground-breaking ophthalmic equipment. Using state of the art technologies such as rapid prototyping and machining, you will aid the team in our endeavour to revolutionise the eyecare industry.

The Role
- Assembling complex medical devices by following manufacturing procedures.
- Using rapid prototyping equipment to produce custom parts to support the development team.
- Designing and developing state of the art medical ophthalmic products from concept to production.
- Investigating and testing ideas to improve existing systems and solve problems.
- Life cycle support such as recalibrating devices and keeping them up to spec.
- Supporting the transfer to manufacture of Eyoto’s products to contract manufacturing partners.
- Contribute to production build documentation and device technical file information as appropriate.
- Providing technical support to customers and employees.
- Meeting performance targets and adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Working closely with the team to continuously improve processes.
The Skills and Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience within a multidisciplinary Engineering environment, ideally working on medical devices.
- Experience of designing motor driven systems.
- Expert use of CAD programs, preferably SolidWorks
- The ability to read and create engineering drawings
- Practical and hands on skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to follow processes.
- Ability to work independently.
Skills Preferred
- Previous experience in rapid prototyping (3D printing etc.).
- Previous experience of injection moulded component design.
- Previous experience of optical systems.
- Professional use of Microsoft packages – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience of working in a highly regulated field.
- Experience of ISO 13485 & IEC 60601.
- Knowledge of compliance testing requirements.
- Open to learning and developing new skills.
